On April 7th, the Confucius Institute at Congolese Diplomatic Academy signed a cooperation agreement with Huawei’s branch in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to establish an off-campus Chinese language learning practice base. More than 30 people attended the event, including BOYOKO BAELO DEBRE, the dean of the Congolese Diplomatic Academy (on the right side of the photo), Zhang Bowen, the deputy general manager of Huawei’s branch in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (on the left side), FUNDI TANGANIKA ELOI, the foreign dean of the Confucius Institute, Ma Xinqiang, the Chinese dean, as well as teachers and students of the Confucius Institute.
It is understood that since its establishment, the Confucius Institute at Congolese Diplomatic Academy has been committed to the development of Chinese education in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and has become an important platform for cultural exchanges between China and Congo. The cooperation between the Confucius Institute and Huawei’s branch in the Democratic Republic of the Congo will play a role in cultivating local compound talents who are proficient in both Chinese and technology.
After the signing ceremony, teachers and students from the Confucius Institute held their first practice activity at Huawei’s branch in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and visited the company’s technical equipment and office facilities. The students actively interacted with the local engineers of the company and learned about Huawei’s current business development and communication technology.
