Vice President Wendy Alexander and her delegation from the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom visited CSU on March 10th. Vice President Li Zhihong, as well as leaders from the Undergraduate School, Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Dundee International Institute, School of Architecture and Art, School of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Life Sciences, and Information and Network Center attended the meeting.
Vice President Li Zhihong warmly welcomed the visit of Wendy Alexander and her delegation and introduced the construction of the Dundee International Institute. The Dundee International Institute, a joint venture between CSU and the University of Dundee, was established in May 2021. Since admitting its first batch of students in September of last year, it has received widespread attention and recognition from the university and the wider community. He hopes that Wendy Alexander’s visit can accelerate the construction and development of the Dundee International Institute and looks forward to the resumption of normal cooperation and exchange between the two sides after the end of the epidemic, and continuous deepening of the collaboration.
Wendy Alexander expressed her gratitude for CSU’s support in the cooperation between the two universities over the years, and praised the comprehensive qualities of the students in the Dundee International Institute. She expressed her hope that both sides could further broaden the channels of cooperation, expand the scope of cooperation, and carry out more extensive cooperation in the field of scientific research.
During the meeting, the heads of various units put forward expectations for cooperation on specific issues such as the renewal of the 2+2 agreement for undergraduate students in the School of Life Sciences, student exchange and learning, collaborative projects with the School of Architecture and Art, teacher development and quality assurance of teaching, and information network construction. Both sides also exchanged views on specific issues such as the operation of the institute, personnel appointments, academic cooperation, and teaching plans, and reached consensus.
During the visit, Wendy Alexander and her delegation also visited teachers dispatched by the University of Dundee and interacted with some students of the Dundee International Institute.
