From April 24th to 29th, 2023, Vice President Li Zhihong led a delegation to visit Polytech Nice-Sophia in France, University of Dundee and Imperial College London in the United Kingdom, and also visited CSU students studying at Imperial College London and the University of Cambridge.
During the meeting with Alexander Caminada, President of Polytech Nice-Sophia in France, Vice President Li Zhihong introduced the academic characteristics, advantages, and achievements in talent cultivation and international cooperation of both universities. The two sides focused on discussing plans for student exchanges based on the Dundee International Institute, and reached a preliminary agreement on the intention to sign a student exchange agreement. They also explored and envisioned the future cooperation between the newly established Université Côte d’Azur and CSU.
During the visit to the University of Dundee, Vice President Li Zhihong held talks with the President Iain Gillespie, Vice President Wendy Alexander, Vice President Kim Dale, and other officials. The two sides had in-depth discussions on the cooperation and cultivation mode of students in the School of Architecture and Art, and reached a preliminary agreement, signing a 2+2 Cooperation Agreement in the School of Life Sciences between the two universities. President Iain Gillespie expressed his continued support for the development of Dundee International Institute, and his desire to strengthen cooperation between the two universities in scientific research and research achievements transformation. He also expressed his eagerness to visit CSU in May. After the meeting, the third joint management committee meeting of Dundee International Institute was held online and offline to review the construction and operation of the institute. The committee members voted on matters related to changes in the membership of the joint management and operation committees, and made amendments to relevant regulations in the articles of association.
During his visit to Professor Lin Jianguo in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London, Vice President Li Zhihong expressed his gratitude to Professor Lin for accepting CSU's students for advanced studies in the department. They had in-depth discussions on further expanding stable channels for cooperation in sending undergraduate graduates to pursue graduate studies abroad and in joint PhD programs. Vice President Li Zhihong stated that CSU will select and dispatch more outstanding students to study and pursue advanced degrees at top European institutions such as Imperial College London, in order to cultivate more innovative talents who can excel both nationally and internationally.
