From 17 to 20 October 2023, the 10th International Symposium on Lead and Zinc Processing (PbZn 2023) was convened at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center. This marked the first time since the symposium’s inception in 1970 that the event had been held in China. Jointly organised by the Nonferrous Metals Society of China, CSU, and ten additional co-hosts, the symposium welcomed more than 1,000 participants from 26 countries, including over 110 international experts and 25 academicians. Eleven parallel sessions examined topics such as lead-zinc resource exploration, green smelting technologies, and secondary resource utilisation. A total of 385 academic papers were accepted. The symposium highlighted China’s advancing technological capabilities in the lead-zinc industry and contributed to global efforts toward green development in the nonferrous metals sector.
