Positioned to meet the steel and nonferrous industries’ needs for carbon peaking and carbon reduction, the Center leverages CSU’s end-to-end strengths across geology, mining, mineral processing, metallurgy, and materials, and collaborates closely with leading global metal-resource enterprises to advance integrated research and innovation. Its work spans low-carbon utilisation of nonferrous metals, carbon-reduction technologies for iron-ore smelting, ecological restoration in resource utilisation, and carbon capture, utilisation, and storage. With an emphasis on original technology incubation, breakthroughs in critical carbon-reduction processes, and the industrialisation and demonstration of new technologies, the Center is developing an international-calibre platform that brings together applied research, key technology development, industrial deployment, and high-level talent cultivation.
