Respected leaders, teachers, and my dear schoolmates,

Good morning!

I am LE THI HUONG from Vietnam, a 2018 graduate of the College of Literature and Journalism, and it is an honor for me to give a speech here on behalf of all the graduates.

Our youth will not fail our dream, nor will our dream fail our endeavor. For the same goal we have gathered here!Romance of the Three Kingdoms,Journey to the West,Water Margin, andPrincess Pearlare my childhood favorites. Since then, I have been interested in Chinese literature, and started dreaming of studying in China. I hope to become a teacher of Chinese language and ambassador of Chinese-Vietnamese cultural communication andexchanges. With this dream, Icame to Central South University (CSU) three years ago. In this cradle for talents, I have had the most beautiful and unforgettable time. Today, on this special day, I would like to share with you my feelings.

First: Thankfulness

Thanks to the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China for giving me the opportunity to study at Central South University. Here, thestrongacademic atmosphere and abundant teaching resources give us the courage to overcome difficulties; here, the enterprising spirit in learning drive us to be more mature persons.

Thanks to all teachers at the School of Literature and Journalism, especially the teachers at the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges. They have provide the best support and logistics work for us.

Thanks to all advisors for the encouragement and guidance.

Thanks to all classmates. Their company and help have freed us from loneliness during the long journey of researches.

Thanks to all family members. Their quiet encouragement and support have driven me to take the first step to realize our dream.

Second: Harvest

On September 2015, I came toCentral South University for study. At first, I couldn’t understand the teachers’ language. I was flustered, and even felt doubtful about my studying-in-China. Then I turned to my advisors. Theirtireless guidance lighted for the direction of my diligence and endeavor and showed me the way of solving problems and the skill of writing and communicating. Their warm-heartedness and cordiality have inspired me, influenced me, stimulated me, and finally transformed me. Three years later, my three-year GPA achieves 3.8. On May 2018, I successfully passed my thesis defense for master’s degree and my paper was praised as outstanding, a true recognition by my advisors for my unremitting efforts in the last three years, representing a perfect sum-up of my studying-in-China. My three years being here has changed me, built self confidence in me and enhanced my love for everything here.

Here, we have learned about the extensiveness and profundity of traditional Chinese culture. Our school sends us Zongzi at the Dragon Boat Festival and moon cakes at the Mid-Autumn Festival; our WeChat Official Account introduces thefestival origin; our teachers of Chinese specially arrange such after-school activities as making Chinese dumplings and practicing calligraphy. Those hands-on activities have stimulated our interest in Chinese culture. There are also physical activities including running, mountaineering, badminton, dragon and lion dance. Though I have never been involved in those activities, I’d love to cheer for the participants; when victory will comes to our side, we all go excited and hug together, no boundary standing between nationalities, skin colors and languages. Here, we feel home, warm and united with each other. Our big family, led by teachers atthe Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, enjoy the communication in Chinese and shared the excitement with each other.

The most unforgettable thing is the social practice activities for foreign students -- “Experience China – Charming Hunan”. I see China’s power from Sany Group –a well-known enterprise of Chinese equipment manufacturing, Longping Rice Museum, Liuyang Fireworks and Liuyang New Countryside, etc.; I see China’s manufacturing strength from the aerobatic flying display and maglev train of Hunan Sunward Science and Technology Co., Ltd. Many of my classmates told me that they would study hard, hoping to stay in China in the future and have a job in China’s modern manufacturing industry; some of them also hoped that China would have more cooperation with their own countries in the manufacturing industry.

These three years has given us a common idea, brought us a wealth of knowledge and experience, and deepened our understanding of Chinese politics, economy, culture and other areas; these three years has brought me both teacher friends and classmate friends and made me know Central South University is the right place to start my dream.

Third: Good Wishes

May all the teachers who edify us and all our family members and friends who support us enjoy health and success!

May all the 2018 graduates live a happy life, have a bright future, and enjoy your graduation!

May my Alma Mater thrive and progress with each passing day!

I don’t want to say goodbye to you, my springtime. The intimate ties we have forged will surely make us march on courageously. Now our goal is there beyond the horizon, we should go ahead and never turn back no matter whether there is cold storm in store for us. I am a Central South University and forever I will be; the idea of “Create Knowledge and Serve Society” has rooted into my blood; I will advance firmly and live a meaningful life. Thank you!
