Li Jiancheng

President

Li Jiancheng, male, Han nationality, was born in December 1964. He is a member of the Communist Party of China, doctor, professor, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He served as the Vice President and the member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of Wuhan University, among others, and currently serves as the President and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Central South University (CSU).

He has long been committed to the research of earth gravity field theory and its engineering application, developed China’s autonomous global gravity field model, solved multiple problems in the field of regional precise digital elevation datum determination, and formulated an independent and innovative theory and technology system, meeting the advanced world research standard in this field. He has presided over the 973 Program, the 863 Program, Creative Research Groups of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and key programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has received 1 first prize and 4 second prizes in the National Science and Technology Advance Award, and 1 grand prize and 7 first prizes in the provincial/ministerial Science and Technology Advance Award.

He received the subsidy of the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars (1996), and won the titles of the first batch of Science and Technology leading talents of the National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation (2010) and the innovation team in key field of the Ministry of Science and Technology (2014), among others. He received such honors as Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation's Science and Technology Progress Award, China Youth Science and Technology Award, Hubei Province Science and Technology Outstanding Contribution Award, Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award (Young Scholar Award), the grand prize in the National Excellent Teachers Award of Baosteel, and the National May 1 Labor Medal.

He is responsible for presiding over the comprehensive administrative work of CSU, and is in charge of audit work.
