Resume of Prof. Liu Wensheng
Professor Liu Wensheng was born in Fuping County,Shanxi Province, China on Oct,1967. He is named as the scholar Professor of Chang Jiang Scholars Program and is supported by Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University by the Ministry of Education. Professor Liu Wensheng is appointed as the director of National Defense Science & Technology Key tLab of Lightweight and High Strength Structural Materials, the specialist responsible for the key project “Research and development of special materials applicable in both military and civilian ” in National High-tech R&D Program (863 Program) of new materials. He is also principle expert in “Advanced structural materials and manufacturing of nonferrous metal” Collaborative Innovation Center (2011 program) and member of academic committee in both State Key Laboratory of Powder Metallurgy and National Energy Novel Materials Center. He is a visiting professor at the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technologies for Comprehensive Utilization of Platinum Metals. Professor Liu is the standing committee of the Chinese Materials Research Society, the senior committee of Youth Council of Chinese Materials Research Society, and the director of Nanomaterial and Devices chapter of Chinese Materials Research Society. And he is an editor of Journal of Central South University, Spacecraft Environment Engineering, and many other academic journals either. Professor Liu is the secretary of the Party Committee in Powder Metallurgy Research Institute of Central South University.
Professor Liu has been working on the basis and application of lightweight high strength structural materials, electronic materials, refractory metal materials, aviation brake system and so on. He was in charge of over 20 projects funded by the National Security Key Basic Research Program of China (National Defense 973 program), National High-tech R&D Program (863 Program), National Defense Basic Scientific Research, National Natural Science Foundation of China, matched projects of military industry, international cooperation projects. He and his team are investigating high performance lightweight gradient powder materials and oxide fibers, preparing high homogeneous and fine spacing ultra-thin eutectic electronic materials, fabricating a large length-diameter ratio, aligned strengthening phase materials for missile, and studying the fatigue damage, structural strength, brake vibration and thermal field distribution of materials for aircraft wheel brake systematically. Research results have been successfully applied in military. Professor Liu has authored or co-authored over 150 refereed articles on journals like Materials Science and Engineering A, Materials Letters, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, Materials Characterization (including 2 book). He has hold 25 China invention patents, obtained 4 appreciations and rewards of scientific and technological achievements, and won 2 provincial and ministerial level awards.
