The latest data of Essential Science Indicators (ESI) of Clarivate Analytics (the former Intellectual Property & Science of Thomson Reuters) updated on Jun. 18, 2019 (Beijing time) reveals that Agricultural Science of Central South University (CSU) enters for the first time the global top 1% disciplines listed in ESI. So far, the number of disciplines of CSU that have been listed in ESI global top 1% reaches 16, lifting the ranking of CSU among the universities implementing “Double First-class” construction in China from the 11th to the 10th.
After this data update, the time period for article search in the database is Jan. 1, 2008 – Oct. 31, 2018. Statistics shows that CSU Agricultural Science published totally 166 ESI papers during this time period which have been cited 2,282 times, ranking the 795th among 821 research institutions of which the discipline of Agricultural Science has entered global top 1%.
On the whole, the number of ESI papers of CSU has increased to 37,932 and citation times to 367,407, with the citation per paper reaching 9.69, improving the ESI ranking (by total citation times) of CSU among 5870 institutions listed in ESI global top 1% from the 400th in Nov. 2018 to the 391st.
