President Tian Hongqi and Her Delegation Visit Russia and Belarus

To respond to the Belt and Road Initiative, build a global strategic partnership network for CSU, expand the cooperation with Eastern Europe in higher education and promote cultural and educational exchanges between China and Russia, President Tian Hongqi paid a 8-day working visit to Russia and Belarus from Sep. 1 to 8, 2018.

President Tian Hongqi and her delegation, accompanied by Cui Shan, President of the Russian-Chinese Foundation for Cultural, Educational and Scientific Development, visited the Russian University of Transport (formerly known as (theMoscow State University of Railway Engineering), the Moscow Aviation Institute, the Moscow State University, the Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University and the Belarussian National Technical University. CSU and these foreign universities made in-depth discussion and communication on transportation, civil engineering, medicine and medical treatment, aerospace, humanities & social sciences and other disciplines, and reached a consensus in student and teacher exchanges, scientific research cooperation, joint organization of international conferences. President Tian Hongqi signed cooperation agreements respectively with the Russian University of Transport , the Moscow Aviation Institute, the Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University and the Belarussian National Technical University to promote cooperation in talent cultivation, teaching and scientific research and international programs. The Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation attended and witnessed the signing ceremony.

During the visit to Russia, President Tian Hongqi and her delegation were also invited to the site of the Moscow-Kazan High-Speed Railway Project undertaken by China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Company Limited (CREEC) where they took part in discussion and learnt about the general situation, cooperation model, technical innovation, management mode and localized construction of the project. President Tian Hongqi stated CSU’s willingness to participate in the construction of the Moscow-Kazan High-Speed Railway Project and boost the “go global” strategy based on its disciplinary advantages. Besides, she visited the Skolkovo Innovation Center and the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO.

The delegation is composed of the leaders from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering, Xiangya School of Medicine, School of Civil Engineering and School of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
