Undergraduate Graduate
Undergraduate Discipline:
(1) Public Administration. Administration started enrolled new students since 1999. Now, it has formed a reasonable structure team. In this group, young teachers are the main body. It has advantages in some areas like government management, city government and so forth.
(2) Sociology: Department of Sociology of Central South University was built in 1990. In 2000, the first sociology undergraduate was admitted. There are 17 teachers, 6 professors, visiting professor at 7, 8 associate professors, 9 PhD (including post-doctoral), 6 doctoral candidates, which formed the backbone of middle-aged young teachers.
(3) Human Resource and Social Security.
The Central south university institute of public administration of human resources and social security department was established in September 2010. Human resources and social security department is mainly engaged in public human resources management, enterprise human resources management, social security and other fields of teaching and scientific research work. There are 10 full-time faculty members, including 2 professors, 4 associate professors, lecturers four people; All teachers have a doctorate. Postgraduate Disciplines:
(1) Public Administration. This discipline includes four small disciplines, administration, economical education and management, social security and land management. (2) Sociology: This discipline includes five small disciplines, humanistic sociology of physical education, sociology, anthropology, folklore, demography. Department of Sociology of Central South University，obtained the right to grant master's degree in sociology and enrolled in graduate in 2000; obtain the right to grant master's degree in anthropology in 2003, obtained the level discipline of sociology of master's degree in 2005, in the same year add demographic master degree; access to major of Social Work Master (MSW) granting in 2010.
(3) Philosophy: This discipline includes nine small disciplines, Ethics, foreign philosophy, aesthetics and art philosophy, logic, religion, Marxist philosophy, science and technology philosophy, Chinese philosophy. Philosophical traditions of Central South University can be traced back to academician Chen guoda groundbreaking research on earth science philosophy in the 1960s. In 2002, Department of Philosophy was established, to grant master's degree in professional ethics leading by the Professor ZengZhaoxin in 1990, leading the first to create a moral psychology and sociology research ethics in China. (4) Social Policy and Social Management: The major of Social Policy and Social Management obtained the right to grant master's degree in sociology and enrolled in graduate in 2000; it obtained the right to grant master's degree in anthropology in 2003, and obtained the level discipline of sociology of master's degree in 2005, in the same year add demographic master degree; access to Social Work Master (MSW) granting in 2010.
Doctoral Disciplines：
(1) Philosophy. In 2003, Ethics Phd and Bioethics Phd program has been approved successfully, philosophy department obtained the right to grant a doctorate basic principles of Marxism in 2005,and obtained philosophical the level disciplines postdoctoral in 2007, awarded the doctorate level discipline Philosophy right in 2010, now there are 15 master tutor supervisors in philosophy department.
(2) Bioethics: In 2003, bioethics Phd program declared successfully.
(3) Organizational management and Innovative Policy. It is based on organizational theory and the perspective of policy. It contains management, philosophy, and the science of law. It used science of policy disciplines to critique basic hypothesis of organizational management, operate principles and cultural values. It should be clear that basic standard and laws of formulation of policy. It is a mix discipline which exploring the basic regulation of organization.
(4) Social Policy and Social Management: The major of Social Policy and Social Management established the independent interdisciplinary "Social Policy and Social Management ”second-rate disciplines, there are 3 doctoral supervisors in 2012.
