Guo Xueyi, male, Han nationality, was born in October 1966, in Changsha, Hunan Province. He is a CPC member, doctor of engineering and professor. He served as the Director of the Admission Office of the Graduate School and the Director of the Department of Human Resource of Central South University, and now serves as the member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and the Vice President of Central South University.
Major research areas: Clean metallurgy of nonferrous metals, recycling of secondary resources, and preparation of advanced materials.
He received such honors and titles as the distinguished professor of Chang Jiang Scholars Program (2012), the national candidate of the “Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project” (2014), recipient of the special government allowances of the State Council, and young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions. He has presided over the completion of dozens of research projects of the national, provincial and ministerial-level science and technology program and the key and general programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and has been the winner of the original achievements in the fields of the clean extraction of complex resources, the green circulation of “urban mining” and the preparation of new energy materials. He has also been the winner 3 items of the State Science and Technology Advancement Award and 15 items of the provincial and ministerial-level science and technology award.
He presides over science, technology and industrial work.
