Born in 1966, Fan Wuqiu received his PhD degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2005 and acted as an academic visitor in School of Languages, Linguistics and Culture, the University of Manchester in 2007. He is currently a doctoral supervisor in School of Foreign Language Studies, Central South University of P. R.China. His main publications include A Practical Course on EST Translation and a variety of journal articles on translation, with such journals as Babel, Chinese Translators Journal, etc. His translations into Chinese mainly include Jules Verne’s Master of the World, Journey to the Interior of the Earth, and those into English include the introduction to some famous scenic spots in China. His current research interest is translation aesthetics. He is now the executive chief editor of Foreign Language and Translation and also the director of translation research centre in Hunan province.
