Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2018 Released: 28 Subjects of CSU on the List

Shanghai Ranking officially has released the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2018 today. CSU’s 28 subjects make the list, increasing by 7 from 2017 and improving the ranking from 17 in 2017 to 13 among colleges and universities in the Mainland of China.

The seven new subjects, i.e. Communication and Transportation Engineering, Control Science & Engineering, Statistics, Communication Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Earth Sciences and Management, have made their debut on the list, a leapfrog progress especially for Communication and Transportation Engineering, Control Science & Engineering, Earth Sciences and Management have made a leapfrog progress.

The ranking includes over 4,000 universities around the world, with over 1,600 universities from 83 countries and regions making the list. Chinese mainland has 202 universities making the list with 1,700 times of being listed in total, ranking second globally only next to the United States.

Shanghai Ranking’s ranking indicator system for this time is basically made up of the same five indicator of the last year, i.e. PUB, CNCI, IC, TOP and AWARD.
