On September 18, the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Business Graduates Association (BGA) sent a letter to CSU Business School to notify that CSU’s MBA program has been awarded the top-term accreditation of five years by AMBA. This marks the third time CSU’s MBA program has received AMBA accreditation, following successful accreditation and re-accreditation in 2015 and 2018 respectively.
On June 27-28, 2024, the accreditation team visited CSU for a two-day on-site inspection. The team is made up of Professor Steef Van de Velde, Chairman of the AMBA & BGA International Accreditation Advisory Committee (former Dean of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Netherlands); Professor Wang Chongming, consultant expert of AMBA & BGA International Accreditation Advisory Committee in China (Senior Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences and former Executive Vice Dean of the School of Management, Zhejiang University); Professor Tang Ningyu, Dean of the International Business School, Hainan University (former Vice Dean of Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University); and Joseph Pilkington, Senior Accreditation Manager of AMBA & BGA. During the inspection, the accreditation team conducted strict examinations of the Business School from multiple perspectives including strategic planning, talent cultivation, faculty development, research capabilities, internationalization efforts, and social services, and expressed appreciation for the School’s achievements in development.
AMBA, the Association of MBAs, founded in 1967, is one of the three leading international accreditation institutions for business schools, alongside the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). AMBA is an independent institution specializing in quality assurance of MBA programs and serves as a pass for business schools to become internationally accredited. Its members encompass all key stakeholders of MBA programs, including leading business schools, MBA students, alumni and employers. The term of accreditation is typically three to five years, which is designed to encourage business and management schools to adopt an “ongoing improvement” philosophy to enhance and ensure educational quality. CSU Business School started its first AMBA accreditation in September 2014, and received its initial three-year accreditation in 2015, followed by a re-accreditation in 2018 for the top-term accreditation of five years.
