Professor Chai Tianyou, academician of CAE, Professor Nikola Kasabov, academician of the Royal Academy of Sciences New Zealand, Professor Nikhil R. Pal, academician of the Indian National Academy of Sciences, and Professor Robert Kozma, Chairman of the International Neural Networks Society, were invited to give special reports. International and domestic scientists in the field of neural networks, including 5 academicians of the European Academy of Sciences, 1 academician of WAS, and more than 10 IEEE Fellows, were invited to give a total of 2 keynote speeches at roundtable forums, 5 conference presentations, and 17 keynote presentations. Experts and scholars from around the world engaged in artificial intelligence theories and application researches, including more than 60 national-level talents, were invited to give a total of 260 oral presentations. Focusing on the cutting-edge hot issues such as low-carbon operation of process industry, brain-like intelligence, industrial Internet and artificial general intelligence, and with special attention to the latest research progress, new opportunities and challenges in the field of international artificial intelligence, the scientists agreed that the new generation of artificial intelligence technology is the leading core technology of the new round of industrial revolution and has affected all aspects of society.

ICONIP 2023 organized four sessions: “Theory and Algorithms”, “Cognitive Neuroscience”, “Human Centered Computing” and “Applications”, covering a number of fields such as machine learning, pattern recognition, speech processing, neurodynamics, neural data analysis, neuromorphic hardware, information security, sensory perception, intelligent robots and brain-like intelligence, biomedical engineering, and computational finance. An all-time record high of 1,274 papers from 64 countries and regions around the world were received. After evaluation, the ICONIP 2023 organizing committee awarded 2 Best Paper Awards and 2 Best Student Paper Awards, the APNNS awarded 1 Distinguished Achievement Award and 2 Young Researcher Awards.

In recent years, the disciplines of Control Science and Engineering and Artificial Intelligence at CSU have achieved a series of research results in intelligent manufacturing for the process industry, intelligent control and intelligent systems, as well as intelligent factories for non-ferrous metallurgy, and have been successively awarded 7 awards of the three major national scientific and technological achievement awards and more than 20 first prizes of provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological achievement awards. ICONIP 2023 has provided a high-end international platform for global scientists, researchers, educators, engineers and students in the field of neural networks to carry out academic exchanges, exchange of ideas, discussions of cutting-edge issues, and presentation of achievements.
