On the afternoon of February 27, Tusana Sirichote, President of Songkhla Rajabhat University (SKRU), and his party visited our university. University leaders Li Jiancheng and Li Zhihong, as well as the principals of the General Office, Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, and School of International Education, received the guests in Conference Room 2 of Office Building 1.
During the exchange, Li Jiancheng said that the university (Central South University) would provide more educational resources for Chinese teaching in SKRU, promote the construction of a mutually beneficial cooperation system in linguistic and cultural education, achieve more practical results in two-way exchanges between teachers and students, joint talents cultivation, academic and scientific research cooperation, etc. and increase more humanistic and emotional connotations in the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Thailand. Tusana extended sincere gratitude to Central South University for its support of the Chinese teaching work in SKRU and hoped to cooperate with Central South University in more fields, to build a broader exchange platform for students in both China and Thailand. Discussions between the two sides centered around international Chinese education, joint training of international students in China, and some other issues.
At the end of the talks, Li Zhihong and Tusana, the heads of both parties, signed a cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, SKRU students majoring in Chinese language teaching shall study at Central South University for one semester, and the course shall focus on international Chinese teaching skills and literacy. The signing of this cooperation agreement will facilitate the creation of an educational model that articulates with the training of undergraduates majoring in Chinese language in Thai universities.
In August 2022, Central South University signed a Memorandum of understanding with SKRU. By undertaking these Chinese language training programs as the online winter camp of "Chinese Bridge" of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, the Chinese Ministry of Education, and the special online training program for “International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship”, the university provided a platform for SKRU students to learn the language and culture of China, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation between the two universities.
Before the meeting, Tusana and his party visited the Railway Park of Central South University, the Key Laboratory of Traffic Safety on Track Ministry of Education, and the National Engineering Research Center of High-speed Railway Construction Technology.
