A Delegation Led by Tian Hongqi Visits Germany, Switzerland and Hungary

On November 12 – 21, in order to promote “Double World-Class” construction, establish the network of global strategic partner, build oversea talent cultivation base and deepen cooperation with first-class universities all over the world, Tian Hongqi, President of Central South University (CSU) and her delegation visited Germany, Switzerland and Hungary.

Accompanied by Ding Yazhen, Minister-Counselor of Bonn Office, Embassy of P.R.C in Germany, the delegation visited University of Bonn, and both parties exchanged the basic situations of two universities and agreed to promote the cooperation in the fields of mathematics, physics and laws; in the University of Fribourg, both parties agreed to enhance cooperation in the aspects of student exchange and scientific research and signed the memorandum of cooperation between two universities; during the visit of World Health Organization (WHO), the delegation fully understood the frame and operating mechanism of WHO as well as the works of WHO Addictive Behaviors, Social Psychological Factors and Health Cooperation Center in the Second Xiangya Hospital, CSU and discussed the expansion of cooperation with WHO, mainly including establishing a joint research center and sending students to practice in WHO; when the delegation visited Budapest University of Technology and Economics, both parties exchanged their opinions on how to fulfill the memorandum of cooperation signed last year and agreed to hold the first World Quantum Biology Conference in CSU in 2020 as sponsors to promote the talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation in the field of quantum biology; in Semmelweis University, both parties agreed to cooperate in exchanging students for clinical learning, short-term visit and inviting scholars for short-term lecturing according to the signed memorandum of cooperation.

Besides, at the invitation of Mr. Pesti Imre, a member of Hungarian Parliament and CSU guest professor, the delegation held an education exchange symposium in the Hungarian Parliament Building, further promoting the communication and cooperation in higher education between Hungary and China.

The persons in charge of Scientific Research Department, Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, School of Automation and the Third Xiangya Hospital of CSU participated in the visit.
