Delegation from British University of Dundee Visits Our University

In the morning of September 26, Tian Hongqi, President of Central South University (CSU) met the delegation of 10 members led by Wendy Alexander, Vice-Principal(International) of British University of Dundee in the 3th Meeting Room, Science and Education Building. Chen Chunyang, Vice President of CSU and leaders from Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Undergraduate School, Division of Planning and Finance, School of Mathematics and Statistics, College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Traffic & Transportation Engineering, School of Civil Engineering and School of Computer Science and Engineering participated in the meeting.

Since 2009, CUS has kept close cooperation with University of Dundee and senior management from both parties has made frequent contact. During the visit, the delegation discussed the cooperation in the joint establishment of a united international college with our university. Both parties reached the consensus in the college level, enrollment scale, enrollment method, curriculum provision, college running cost and international certification of disciplines, etc. and determined the task list for the next phase.

Tian Hongqi said the scientific research of Central South University has always closely integrated with the needs of national economy development and enterprise development, and it supports and leads the development of some industries in many aspects. She hoped that both parties will carry out more extensive and intensive cooperation in scientific research fields based on the platform of united international college.

Wendy Alexander said that she was looking forward to accelerating the negotiation of details, so as to facilitate the cooperation of both parties.

Before the meeting, the representatives from four disciplines including mathematics, civil engineering, computer and mechanical engineering of the University of Dundee respectively discussed the relative issues such as curriculum design with School of Mathematics and Statistics, School of Civil Engineering, School of Computer Science and Engineering, College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and School of Traffic & Transportation Engineering of CUS.
