CSU Team Wins Second Place in Inter-medical School Physiology Quiz

News—On 21 – 22, August, the 17thInter-Medical School Physiology Quiz (IMSPQ) was held in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Under the leadership of Xu Jianping and Xiang Yang, two teachers from the Department of Physiology of the School of Basic Medical Science, the CSU team consisting of 5 students, i.e. Ma Jiayao, Xie Huiqi, Chen Jingying, Xu Yiping and Zhou Hong, stood out of 100 teams from 20 countries and regions to win the second place in the written examination. Ma Jiayao from Class 1608 of the Department of Clinical Medicine (five-year) and Xie Huiqi from Class 1701 of the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology individually ranked the 2ndand the 8threspectively, creating a historic breakthrough of CSU.

As a physiology knowledge contest for global students organized by University of Malaya, Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz (IMSPQ) is divided into two parts, i.e. written examination and oral examination, both in English, and aims to inspect the students’ mastery and clinical application of physiology knowledge and their ability of expression and communication in English. Since first launched in 2003, it has been attended by nearly 150 well-known medical colleges from the countries and regions in Asia, Europe, North America, Africa and Oceania, and has become one of the most influential medical contests.
