On July 10-14, a delegation of 3 people from the Rory Meyers College of Nursing at New York University, headed by Assistant Dean Dr. Emerson E EA, visited Central South University (CSU) for exchanges and cooperation. During the period, foreign guests conducted talks on exchanges and cooperation with the School of Nursing and School of Public Health of our university and the Xiangya Hospital on the aspects of undergraduate education, specialist nurse training (co-developed courses), doctoral training, teacher exchanges, undergraduate short-term exchanges, evidence-based nursing, nursing teacher leadership training, collaborative research, global health, etc., and also carried out field examinations. In addition, they held a lecture on “Teaching Strategy and Skills” for our teachers.
At the request of the guests, in the morning of the 13th, the Deputy Secretary Tao Lijian, the Vice President Chen Xiang and the heads of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, the School of Nursing, the School of Public Health and the Xiangya Hospital held talks with foreign guests. The foreign guests expressed their desire to cooperate with CSU in the above fields and aspects and hoped to obtain active response from CSU. Chen Xiang highly appreciated the guests' desire for cooperation, and put forward suggestions on the cooperative education between the two nursing colleges at the undergraduate level and the introduction of their clinical teaching methods and standards in clinical nursing. During the talks, Tao Lijian recognized the joint application of the two nursing colleges for research projects of the National Institutes of Health. He hoped to promote and strengthen the links and cooperation and exchanges between the two colleges and universities with students as a link and bridge. Also, he expressed that CSU would vigorously support the cooperation between the two sides, and hoped that CSU would take this opportunity of cooperation to upgrade the curriculum system and faculty construction in line with the "double first-class" construction.
