The purpose of Mayor Toni N.Harp’s visit is to sign an agreement with Changsha on forging twin-city relations and to broaden cooperation in the fields of education, science and technology, culture and trade.
President Tian Hongqi said that the past century has witnessed sound interactions between CSU and the Yale-China Association and a deep friendship between Xiangya and the Yale University. She also said that as CSU is rolling out its strategy of going global as part of its efforts to build a “double top university”, Mayor Harp’s visit and the establishment of a twin-city relationship between New Haven and Changsha will not only contribute to the cultural exchanges between the two cities, but also promote the cooperation between CSU and its counterparts in New Haven, and even push forward the China-US cooperation in education.
