Recently, a delegation of Jennifer Potter, Vice President of University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Paolo Casali, Immunology Director, and Zhong Guangming, CSU alumnus and Deputy Director of University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, paid a 9-day visit to CSU. Tao Lijian, Executive Deputy Secretary of CSU, and Chen Xiang, Vice President of CSU, attended the meeting and had a discussion with the delegation.
At 3 p.m. on 12 April, CSU and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio held a cooperation agreement signing ceremony at the 2nd meeting room of the 8th building in Xiangya School of Medicine. At the ceremony, Executive Deputy Secretary Tao Lijian reviewed his visit to the Health Science Center at San Antonio 4 years ago, and welcomed the delegates to CSU. Recognizing CSU 8-year program students’ excellent performance, creativity and expertise at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Professor Jennifer Potter welcomed more 8-year program students to University of Texas.
The cooperation agreement not only lays a solid foundation for holistic cooperation on medical education, but also contributes to the common development on medical education and scientific research. In the future, both sides will send teachers and students to each other’s country for study and academic exchanges. Under the exchange program, CSU may send 15 8-year program medical students to study at the Health Science Center at San Antonio every year.
During the visit, the delegation had multiple academic seminars and exchanges with the 2nd Xiangya Hospital’s dermatology department, pediatric department, endocrinology department and psychiatry department. They also visited CSU, the New Campus of the Xiangya School of Medicine of CSU and the history center of Xiangya School of Medicine.
