On July 5, the first batch of the delegation from Indonesian Dharmais National Cancer Hospital for advanced study and training reached Xiangya Hospital and was entertained in the reception room of the office building. The attendees from Xiangya Hospital included Xiao Ping, Secretary of Xiangya Hospital CPC Committee, Li Xuejun, Director of the Office of International Exchanges and Cooperation, Qian Zhaoxin, Director of the Department of Medical Affairs, Professor Liu Zhixiong, Director of Neurosurgery and Professors Liu Qing and Jiang Weixi, both Deputy Director of Neurosurgery, Professor Long Xueying, Deputy Director of Radiology, Wang Ruike, Associate Professor of Anesthesia, and He Jiqun, Chief Nurse of the operating room. 

 Delegation of Indonesian Dharmais National Cancer Hospital Visits Xiangya Hospital for advanced study and training

Dr. Muhammad Firdaus, Head of the Indonesian delegation, expressed his heartfelt thanks to Xiangya Hospital for the admission. He introduced that Dharmais National Cancer Hospital, located in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, is the only cancer specialist hospital in Indonesia that mainly admits patients with neural tumors. He said that China ranks among the top in the diagnosis and therapy of neural tumors and hoped that the delegation would acquire valuable technologies and experience in Xiangya Hospital.

According to Xiao Ping, Secretary of Xiangya Hospital CPC Committee, neurosurgical diseases including brain tumors have a high incidence in Hunan Province, and the Neurosurgery Department of Xiangya Hospital is at the top for the large amount of surgeries and the satisfactory therapeutic effect. The delegation is expected to gain something after this exchange and Xiangya Hospital to further enhance its medical quality. Sending delegations abroad for advanced study and training like this is worth learning from.

After the meeting, the delegation members visited the counterpart departments.

Under the coordination of the President’s Office (the Office of International Exchanges and Cooperation), the Dharmais National Cancer Hospital decides to send a delegation consisting of 10 members (including neurosurgery physicians, anesthesiologists, interventional radiologists, radiology technicians and surgical assistant nurses) to Xiangya Hospital for advanced study and training from July to September, 2017. The delegation will arrive in two batches, the first 6 persons to study from July 4 to August 1 and the rest 4 persons from August 1 to September 1. During their stay in Xiangya Hospital, they will participate in clinical activities as clinical observers.
