On the afternoon of November 25, the awarding ceremony for Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever Prevention and Control Work, jointly sponsored by such seven departments as the National Health and Family Planning Commission, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, the PLA General Political Department and the PLA General Logistics Department, was held in Beijing. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee made important instructions. Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee read out the instructions of Xi Jinping and made a speech at the meeting, which was presided over by Li Bin, Director of the National Health and Family Planning Commission. 60 advanced groups and 280 advanced individuals were commended. Xiangya Hospital of CSU was awarded as Advanced Group in Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever Prevention and Control Work and such four medical workers as Qiu Yuanzheng, Quan Jun, Wang Qingxia and Wu Jing were awarded as advanced individuals.

On May 9, 2015, the Fifth Chinese (Hunan) Medical Team to Aid Sierra Leone against Ebola, organized by the Health and Family Planning Commission of Hunan Province under the designation of the National Health and Family Planning Commission of China and led by Xiangya Hospital of CSU, set off for Sierra Leone in response to the national call. The entire medical team bore in mind the mission and responsibility, vigorously carried forward the spirit of “Being Diligent and Dedicated, Healing the Wounded and Rescuing the Dying, and Sharing Boundless Love”, and fought, with superb technology and rigorous style of work, in the forefront of Ebola epidemic prevention and control, day and night.
