Professor Tian Hongqi

On December 7, the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) officially released the list of newly recruited academicians in 2015. Professor Tian Hongqi from CSU was elected as the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. So far, the number of CAE and CAS members in CSU has increased to 16.

Tian Hongqi, born in 1959 in Lushan, Henan province, is now a professor at Central South University and expert in China’s rail transit aerodynamics and train collision dynamics. She has won two second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award, one second prize of Science and Technology Invention Award, one special award of National Science and Technology Progress Award, and seven first prizes of Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. She has also been awarded such prizes as National Excellent Science and Technology Workers, Ho Leung Ho Lee Award for Progress in Science and Technology, Zhan Tianyou Youth and Achievement Awards for Science and Technology of Railway, Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award, and Hunan Guangzhao Science and Technology Award. The team led by her has built communication and transportation engineering into a national key first-level discipline, and has become an innovation team of Yangtze River scholars under Ministry of Education as well as the first “National Excellent Group of Professionals”.
