Assistant to President
Li Jie, male, was born in October 1963. He is a CPC member, doctor, professor and doctoral supervisor. He served as the Dean of the School of Metallurgy and Environment and the Dean of the Graduate School of Central South University, and now serves as the Assistant to the President of Central South University. He concurrently holds such positions as the Director of the National Engineering Research Center for Low-carbon Nonferrous Metallurgy, the Director of the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center for Advanced Battery Materials, and the Vice President of Chinese Society of Metallurgical Education.
Major research areas: Theory and technology of efficient and clean aluminum metallurgy, computer simulation and control of metallurgical process, intelligent manufacturing, new energy materials and devices, etc.
He received such honors and titles as the distinguished professor of Chang Jiang Scholars Program (2009), the national candidate of the “Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project” (2007), recipient of the special government allowances of the State Council, China Excellent Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award, and Ten Outstanding Youth of Hunan Province. He has presided over the completion of more than 30 national research projects, published more than 200 academic papers, obtained more than 70 authorized invention patents, and published 3 academic monographs. He has been the winner of 3 first and second prizes of the State Science and Technology Advancement Award, 6 first prizes of the provincial and ministerial-level science and technology advancement award, and 1 item of provincial-level teaching achievement award.
He has been a member of the Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC.
He assists in the management of undergraduate education.
