Tian Hongqi Meets with Delegation from Yale-China Association

On the afternoon of April 25, the delegation led byLiang Ping, the Chairman of Yale-China Association, visited CSU and met with the President Tian Hongqi in the meeting room 2# in the Science and Education Building. Tao Lijian, the Executive Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the university and leaders of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges and Xiangya School of Medicine attended the meeting.

Mr. David Youtz, the President of Yale-China Association, introduced that this visit is aimed to promote the “Western Hunan Plan” led by Yale-China Association and supported by Hunan Provincial Health Commission, Xiangya School of Medicine and affiliated hospitals of CSU, XiangYa School of Public Health and Xiang Ya Nursing School of Central South University, further support and strengthen the health development in western Hunan. He hoped to take it as a chance to develop deeper, long-term and all-around cooperation with CSU.

Liang Ping said that the “Western Hunan Plan” agrees with the “poverty alleviation by improving health” put forward by President Xi Jinping and has been well prepared and discussed, and that CSU is expected to give support and assistance for next execution.

According to Tian Hongqi, CSU and Yale-China Association have profound and lasting cooperation and CSU is the “home” of Yale-China Association in China; since “Western Hunan” has great significance, the university will provide all support and insist on the fulfillment of “poverty alleviation by improving health”.
