On October 18, China Scholarship Council (CSC) and CSU jointly held 2018 International Graduate Scholarship Fair (IGSF) at the stadium of the new campus. This event, which consisted of open consultations, one-on-one interviews and presentations, attracted 110 representatives from 60 well-known universities and institutions from 12 countries, including the University of Cambridge, the University of Alberta, the University of Auckland and Monash University.

At the group meeting prior to the opening of the fair, the head of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges briefed the participants on the scale, faculty, history, disciplinary development and international exchanges of CSU. Meanwhile, the representatives from 30 departments, including Business, Civil Engineering, Xiangya Nursing and Information Science and Engineering, had discussions with overseas colleges on exchange and cooperation projects, including student exchanges, faculty training and cooperation on scientific research.

At the fair, a large number of undergraduates and postgraduates from CSU, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Hunan University and Changsha University of Science and Technology visited the exhibition booths of interested universities for consultations. China Scholarship Council, the University of Auckland, the University of Manchester, Victoria University of Wellington, US Embassy in China, Australian Embassy in China and Council for Higher Education of Israel delivered seminars. Many students said that it is a rare opportunity for them to have interactions with famous colleges around the world, and that they gained a better understanding of where to seek further learning through communication and exchanges with the admission officers of various colleges. A lot of students got admission offers.

IGSF has been held for 9 consecutive years since 2009. It is aimed to facilitate the implementation of the Postgraduate Study Abroad Program of CSC, to foster face-to-face communication between well-known foreign universities and excellent Chinese students, and to strengthen cooperation between Chinese and foreign institutions on postgraduate education. In October this year, 2018 IGSF will be held in Beihang University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, CSU and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where students can learn about the latest information concerning college application and scholarship, have a better understanding of policies regarding the Postgraduate Study Abroad Program of CSC, and make the choice of college and major through consultations with interested universities.
